Legal
Terms of Service
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Appronox Ltd governing your access to and use of AriaDate, our online dating and social-introduction service at www.ariadate.com. By creating an account or using AriaDate you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility — you must be 18 or older
AriaDate is a service for adults. You may use AriaDate only if you are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, if higher) and legally able to enter into this agreement. By using AriaDate you represent and warrant that:
- you are 18 years of age or older;
- you have never been convicted of a serious offence involving violence or a sexual offence, and are not required to register as a sex offender;
- you are not barred from using the Service under the laws of your country of residence; and
- you will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws.
We do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to use AriaDate. If we learn that a user is under 18 we will close the account and delete the associated data. If you believe a minor is using AriaDate, contact us at [email protected].
3. Your account
- Registration. You create a single AriaDate account using an email address and a password (or a passkey). You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.
- Security. Keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Two-step verification is available in Settings → Security. Tell us promptly of any unauthorised use.
- One account. Accounts are personal to you and may not be shared, sold or transferred.
4. Acceptable use and community rules
To keep AriaDate safe, you agree that you will not:
- create a profile that is false, impersonates another person, or misrepresents your age, identity or photos;
- use AriaDate for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, abuse, threaten, defame, stalk or intimidate any person;
- post content that is sexually explicit in a public area, obscene, hateful, discriminatory, violent or otherwise objectionable;
- solicit money, advertise, or use the Service for any commercial purpose, including sugar-dating, escort or other compensated-companionship solicitation, which are prohibited;
- request or share other users' personal data outside the Service, or collect or scrape user information;
- upload malicious code, attempt unauthorised access, or interfere with the Service;
- use AriaDate if you are under 18, or knowingly interact with anyone you believe to be under 18 — report them instead.
Violations may result in content removal, profile suspension or account termination. We operate moderation, abuse-reporting and profile-suspension tools; you can report another user or their content from within the app.
5. Your content and licence
- Your content. You keep ownership of the photos, text and other content you submit ("User Content") and are solely responsible for it. You confirm you have the rights to share it.
- Licence to us. You grant Appronox a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for example, resize images) and display your User Content solely to operate and improve the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your profile, except for content already shared with other users or retained as legally required or for limited backups.
- Private Gallery. Photos you add to a Private Gallery are shared only with the matches you explicitly choose; you are responsible for whom you share them with.
- Moderation. We are not obliged to pre-screen User Content but may review, refuse or remove content that breaches these Terms.
6. Safety and interactions between users
AriaDate provides a platform to meet other people. We do not conduct criminal background checks or identity verification of users, and we do not vouch for any user's conduct, statements or identity. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users. Use good judgement, protect your personal information and meet in public places. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Appronox is not responsible for the conduct of any user, whether on or off the Service.
7. Subscriptions, billing and the launch offer
- Free and Premium. AriaDate offers a free tier and a paid Premium plan. Premium unlocks features such as distance-limited filtering, messaging your matches and the Private Gallery. The current features of each tier are shown in the app.
- Launch offer. For a limited launch period, the first 500 members may claim one month of Premium free, applied at checkout. After the free month, Premium renews at the then-current price unless cancelled. The offer is limited to the first 500 redemptions and may be withdrawn at any time.
- Billing. Paid subscriptions are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. By subscribing you authorise us, via Stripe, to charge your payment method the applicable recurring fee.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until cancelled. Prices are shown in the app before purchase and may include applicable taxes.
- Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from Settings → Subscription or through the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation stops the next renewal; your Premium features remain active until the end of the period already paid for. We do not provide pro-rata refunds for partial periods except where required by law.
- Right of withdrawal (EU/EEA/UK). If you are a consumer you may have a statutory right to withdraw within 14 days. By starting to use Premium during that period you request its immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed, to the extent permitted by law. Your mandatory local consumer rights are not affected.
- Price changes. We may change subscription prices; changes apply to renewals after we give you reasonable notice.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, logos and trademarks (but excluding User Content), is owned by or licensed to Appronox and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer or create derivative works except as permitted by law.
9. Suspension and termination
- By you. You may stop using AriaDate at any time. You can delete your AriaDate profile and its data from the app's Settings, and you can request deletion of your entire account; account deletion is completed after a short review to protect you from accidental, irreversible loss. Deletion removes your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.
- By us. We may suspend or end your access, remove content or restrict features if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect users or the Service. Where reasonable and lawful we will give notice.
- Survival. Terms that by their nature should survive termination (for example the content licence, safety, intellectual property, disclaimers and liability) continue to apply.
10. Third-party services
AriaDate relies on third-party providers (for example Stripe for payments, and analytics and anti-abuse tools). Your use of those features may be subject to the third party's own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that you will find a match. Where a jurisdiction does not allow certain exclusions, they apply to the extent permitted by law and your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Appronox and its officers, employees and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service or your interactions with other users. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) GBP 100. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Your mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
13. Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold Appronox harmless from claims, damages and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your User Content, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party. This does not apply where you act as a consumer and the claim arises other than through your fault.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — except that, if you are a consumer resident in the EU or EEA, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your country of residence and may bring proceedings there. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material we will give reasonable notice, for example by email or an in-app notice. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version.
